88 Mustang Engine Harness Diagram
- #3
I'll check. I've been going over it and it looks like the oil pressure and water temp run through one of them, along with start/run. I'm guessing I'll find the fuel pump wiring in there too. Between the Mustang harness, remote TFI 351 dizzy, I've got my mustang book, Big Bronco book, and the Probst book all out to cross wiring diagrams. Talk about a puzzle!!

Yeah, those look like the "salt & pepper" shaker plugs. As I recall temp and oil pressure were included in that portion of the engine harness. Best thing to do is cut the plugs off and solder the wires together to the other half in the injector harness.

It doesn't show real well, but the salt and pepper connectors are back a little bit. These two are where the self-test connectors are, where one brown connector usually is.
I'm debating about soldering the salt and peppers. It's interesting only one of them has that jumper wiring that Ford put on some as a 'fix' for bad connections back in the day. I always thought they did both or neither.

Ok. I looked up some stuff. Does this sound like them.

Here's what I've got:
black connector
(right cowl area)
round w/8 pins
white/red- oil pressure (to gauge)
red/white- water temp (to gauge)
pink/blue- ?
orange/yellow- ?
white/purple- ?
green/white- ?
blue/yellow- ?
Grey connector
(right cowl area)
round w/8 pins
red/green- to run
red/blue- to start
green/yellow- ?
green/purple- ?
white/pink- ?
As a side question, where's the best place to get weatherpak connectors (or something preferable)? I don't have the chassis side to any of my harness connectors and don't want to solder them all together. Does Napa sell weatherpak? Is there something better?
THanks a lot! I appreciate the help. Getting closer!

Wow, thanks Ourobos. Would you happen to have a wiring diagram to set up the fuel pump relay? I'm thinking of canning the WOT relay for the AC since I'm using my AC compressor for OBA and I don't plan on airing up my tires at WOT.

I looked in every chart and diagram I have and I cannot find all those color combinations. I think your best bet is to trace them to the 60-pin connector. The pin functions are easy to ID.
I can get weatherpaks or even just single pins at my local Napa.
